Six degrees of Kevin Bacon…

Date February 6, 2009

Ok, ok. Start with David High, and get to Kevin Bacon.
Let’s see…
David High worked on Boy of Pigs with James Rebhorn, who was in Meet the Parents with Robert de Niro, who was in Sleepers with KEVIN BACON.

Give me something harder. That David High guy is too easy. He has connections.

Namely James Rebhorn, who is that guy. You know who I’m talking about. He’s in everything. He was also very nice, I’ll add.

When I first moved to Baltimore, I struggled finding a job for three months until I found a job tutoring Cameron Bright… in English, P.E., and History.  He was in 8th grade at the time and in town to shoot what was formerly known as Boy of Pigs.

I was going to post today about how the movie got shelved, and was no longer on imdb, but finally they updated their website and it looks like they just changed the title to An American Affair.  Sounds good to me. I was never a fan of the title, but I don’t think it helps very much when the name you change it to already exists. It stars Gretchen Mol, Cameron Bright, Noah Wyle, Perrey Reeves, and James Rebhorn…or more commonly known as girl from rounders, kid I tutored, dude from ER, Ari’s wife, and guy from everything. They were all very nice people.

Here’s a little souvenir from the production. It’s a call sheet for one of the days of shooting. For you B-morians, it was mostly shot around Bolton Hill and Lanvale/North Ave. area.

It’s only opening in 4 theaters to begin – DC, NY, LA and Boston. DC opens 2/27/09.
Bhavini and I already saw a screening while we still lived in Baltimore. We enjoyed it. I enjoyed it more for obvious reasons. She enjoyed it less because I leaned over and said, “this is Towson” or “those houses aren’t really across the street from each other” every 5 minutes.

Anyway, check out the website. It has a trailer that I couldn’t figure out how to embed, and some more pictures.
I’m excited. If you’re in any of those 4 areas, go see my name in the credits.

And since I had to carry Cameron’s stuff back and forth from the set to his trailer every day, here’s part of his script from a day of shooting (Alex Metcalf wrote the script).
