No one on the *court* have…?
May 19, 2009
It’s finally over. John Wall has decided where to go play basketball for a year. He’s moving to Lexington to play with the Kentucky Wildcats. Official announcement coming tomorrow at 2pm EST, where I fully expect him to Diva-it-up. It actually wouldn’t shock me if he said, “suckers i’m going to duke. suck it” and instantly become more hated than Laettner.
So the lineup is set for next year.
Barring some crazy decision by Jodie Meeks, I would say it’s looking like Meeks, Patterson, Harris, Stevenson, Galloway, Miller, and a few folks whose future might be up in the air due to the PICK SIX addition by Calipari:
That’s a lot of stars. It’s probably the best recruiting class ever. Comparable to the Fab 5 of Michigan, I’m sure people won’t shutup about it until the ball is tipped in November.
Calipari has everyone in the state eating out of his hand. Now he just has to teach them some X’s and O’s. Not his strongest characteristic, but he has the talent to win a lot of basketball games. Everyone’s excited, talking trash, getting the UK swagger back, without having won a game with this lineup yet.
It’s gotta be more enjoyable than last year though. I’ll stream the presser from the website tomorrow if possible. Tune in!

Jared Carter graduated and Michael Porter left the team to be with family.
I think those are the only two that left officially.
Rumor is that donald williams, deandre liggins and AJ stewart might be heading.
The main thing is scholarships. here is what KSR says:
(3): Calipari also said that we should know the final spots on next year’s roster this week as well. With school ending, grades coming in and the potential of the end of the Wall saga, at some point this week, the futures of some Cats of last year should be made clear. At this time, the official roster includes everyone from last season, including all walk-ons and scholarship players. That should change at the end of this week. If one assumes Donald Williams will not be back, then the scenario we set out a while back still exists:
5 Newcomers:
Dodson
Cousins
Orton
Hood
Bledsoe
3 Stars:
PAtterson
Meeks
Miller
3 Seniors:
Stevenson
Harris
Galloway
That makes 11….Wall would be 12. There has been some talk that one Senior (Galloway?) could still end up leaving, but the assumption has been all along, that all Seniors will be given the optino to stay. That leaves Stewart, Harrellson, Liggins and Pilgrim for two spots, one if Wall comes. Who will get it? We shall see.
so more than likely since wall is here, Pilgrim will get the other spot. and it’s holla at cha boy for the rest. i guess they could walk on though

I wonder if Cal is “encouraging” people to leave–didn’t Jim Calhoun do some of that recently? I have to say, my goodwill towards UK was on the upswing, courtesy of my strong allegiance to DHigh, but it’s getting all too easy to starting hating y’all again. I’ve always hated Calipari, and if he turns UK into Memphis (thugs who can’t read or shoot free throws), I can’t say I’ll be rooting for him.
